羅斯曾就讀於印第安納州韋恩堡聖經學校和伊利諾伊州芝加哥的慕迪聖經學院。他曾參與巡迴佈道，並在明尼蘇達州聖保羅和紐約市的聯盟聖經學校、加州洛杉磯的聖經學院、浸信會神學院和洛杉磯城市學院擔任音樂教師。他的教會合唱團於1931年在美國各地巡迴演出。他創作了100多首讚美詩和一些聖歌。
